Award winning japanese designer Katsumi Machimura started off as a jewelry designer in the 1960s, and didn't dig his hands into soil until years later. His stunning ceramic work has both elegance and roughness - proper gems in themselves! Katsumi Machimura moreover love gardening, and share his passion for nature in his garden blog. I borrowed these pictures of his ceramic work and natural photos from Atelier Katsumi here. Once a large settlement, Hill End has shrunk to a small village - but the pull it exerts on artists brings new life to its historic homes. Visiting artists find Hill End unique and paintable. These images are from Haefliger's Cottage built in the 1860s. Read increasingly well-nigh this village here. Hill End has recently seen a second renaissance via a popular artists-in-residence program, where versifier can stay for a month in two of the cottages.
